C.A.P.T.U.R.E. Community Surveillance Program

Community Awareness & Prevention Through Utilizing Residential Electronics

The Navarre Police C.A.P.T.U.R.E. program stands for Community Awareness & Prevention Through Utilizing Residential Electronics. Video surveillance is one of the best methods for crime prevention, apprehension of criminals and convicting suspects. Video surveillance offers great investigative leads if a crime occurs. The Navarre Police Department strongly encourages installing residential and business surveillance systems.

How does C.A.P.T.U.R.E. work?

The Navarre Police Department is committed to our partnership with both our residents and businesses. Many are currently operating surveillance systems at their homes or business. As crimes occur nearby, individuals are not always aware that their surveillance system may have CAPTURE’d information that could help solve the crime. The police are also not always aware who may have this potentially vital information. This program connects the Navarre Police Department with citizens who have surveillance video in the event of a crime. As always, this program is 100% voluntary and citizens can opt-out at any time.

What are the benefits of registering your camera(s)?

By registering your camera(s) with the Navarre Police Department, we can quickly identify nearby cameras that may have CAPTURE’d criminal activity. If a crime occurs in your neighborhood, you may be contacted by the Navarre Police Department. Police personnel would contact you to ask if you would examine the time frame in question for potential leads in the investigation. If your equipment was able to C.A.P.T.U.R.E. pertinent information, we would arrange a convenient way to retrieve it from you.

Reminder

Since you own the camera(s), your participation is 100% voluntary.
